Safe and Sound Protocol – SSP

I now offer the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) to my clients, as well as to clients (adolescents and adults) working with their own therapists.  SSP is an evidence-based program that shows significant results in just 5 days.  It is designed to reduce stress and sensory sensitivities, and to improve regulation of physical and behavioral states, and is a wonderful program for anyone with:

  • Social or communication difficulties
  • Emotional difficulties (such as anxiety, anger management, or depression)
  • Auditory sensitivities
  • Trauma related challenges
  • Inattention
  • Stuck or slow therapeutic work
  • Extreme behavioral reactions

The SSP is backed by 20 years of clinical trials and peer-reviewed, published research.  The program involves listening to vocal music that has been specifically processed to calm behavioral and physiological states.  As a result overall resilience is improved and further therapy is enhanced or even accelerated.  For those of you who follow Stephen Porges’ work, this program was developed and researched by him, derived from his 4 decades of work as a Behavioral Neuroscientist.
